Walking in the Footsteps of Ancestors – NAIDOC Nature Walk
This is a free event, but registrations are required. This event is being held at Brandy Creek.
Join us for a Traditional Owner-led nature walk as we celebrate NAIDOC Week and deepen our connection to Country. Experience the rich cultural heritage of the Whitsundays as Traditional Owners guide us through Brandy Creek along the Great Whitsunday Walk, sharing stories, knowledge and the significance of the land, flora and fauna.
This immersive walk offers a rare opportunity to learn about bush tucker, traditional land management and the deep spiritual connection First Nations peoples have with the environment.
Whether you're a local or visitor, this is a chance to walk in the footsteps of ancestors, listen to ancient wisdom and reflect on the 2025 NAIDOC theme.
What to Bring: Comfortable walking shoes, hat, water bottle, suncream and a spirit of curiosity and respect.
