Cinema Sensory Sessions
We understand that the traditional cinema experience can sometimes be overwhelming. That’s why we’re introducing Sensory Cinema Sessions – specially designed screenings that offer a more relaxed and inclusive environment for families to enjoy their favourite films on the big screen.
All Sensory Sessions will be clearly marked on the Proserpine Entertainment Centre booking page, making them easy to identify when selecting session times.
To create a more comfortable and welcoming experience, our Sensory Screenings feature the following adjustments:
Dimmed Lighting
Cinema lighting will be dimmed but not turned off throughout the screening to maintain a soothing atmosphere. Foyer lights will also be dimmed, providing a quieter space for those who may need a short break.
Reduced Sound Levels
Volume levels in the cinema and foyer will be lowered to minimise overwhelming or sudden loud sounds.
Freedom of Movement
We invite guests to bring along your own bean bag or cushion to sit on. Our regular cinema seating will be moved back slightly to allow for guests to comfortably utilize the floor space however our cinema seating will still be available. Guests are also welcome to move around, make noise, or take breaks during the screening without the expectation of remaining seated.
Minimal Pre-Show Content
Sensory Sessions will feature limited pre-show advertising and trailers to help ease into the main feature without overstimulation.
