We are delighted to welcome you to the Proserpine Entertainment Centre (PEC). Whether you are joining us for a live performance, community event, celebration or special occasion, we want your visit to be enjoyable, comfortable and memorable from the moment you arrive.
Our team is committed to creating a welcoming experience for all guests. To help everyone make the most of their time at PEC, we have put together a few helpful tips to ensure you, our performers and fellow guests can enjoy every moment.
Theatre Etiquette
A theatre experience is something to be enjoyed by everyone. A few simple courtesies help create a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for all guests.
Dress for the occasion
There is no formal dress code at the PEC; however, we recommend smart casual attire as a minimum. Many guests enjoy dressing up for a night at the theatre and making the occasion special. Our auditorium temperature can vary, so we recommend bringing a light jacket or wrap to ensure you remain comfortable throughout the performance.
Enjoy the Performance
To help everyone enjoy the show, we kindly ask guests to minimise distractions during performances. Please set mobile phones to silent and avoid using screens during the performance, as the light and activity can be distracting to performers and those seated around you. If you need to take an urgent call, our foyer is available for your convenience.
Photography and Recording
We understand the excitement of wanting to capture a special memory. Guests are welcome to take photos before the performance, during interval or once the show has finished. Photography, filming and recording during performances is not permitted unless approved by the production company. Some performances may include opportunities for photography, which will be advised before the performance begins.
Our Team
Our team is here to help make your visit enjoyable. If you have any questions, need assistance or require support during your visit, please speak with one of our team members. To ensure all guests have a safe and enjoyable experience, we may need to assist guests whose behaviour impacts the enjoyment of others.
Food and Beverages
Our Café and Bar offer a selection of beverages and light refreshments for you to enjoy during your visit. To help maintain a comfortable environment for all guests, hot food, hot drinks, takeaway food and glass containers are not permitted inside the auditorium. We kindly ask guests to unwrap snacks before the performance begins to minimise noise during the show.
Consideration for Other Guests
Please be mindful that large hats or headwear may obstruct the view of guests seated behind you. If you experience any issues with your view, please speak with one of our team members who will be happy to assist where possible.
Families with Young Children
Children are welcome at many PEC performances; however, we recommend checking the event information and age recommendations before booking tickets. If your child becomes unsettled during a performance, our foyer provides a comfortable space to take a short break before returning to the auditorium when ready.
Accessibility
At the Proserpine Entertainment Centre, we want every guest to feel welcome and enjoy their experience with us. If you require accessibility assistance, please let our team know when booking your tickets. We have reserved seating options available to support guests with accessibility requirements, including wheelchair spaces and companion seating where required. Accessible parking is available at the rear of the building, with accessible amenities located nearby for your convenience.
